On 10 July 2025, Blue Security’s Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) received an alert of a housebreaking incident that had just occurred on Heyfield Road, Kloof.

A Blue Security Armed Response Officer was immediately dispatched to the scene and met with the homeowner’s son, who was at home during the break-in. A detailed description of the suspect was quickly shared with all role players in the area.

While actively patrolling nearby, members of the CCPU team spotted a suspect on the M13 eastbound matching the description. Information was also shared with Kloof Neighbourhood Watch, who responded without delay and assisted with the search.

The suspect was stopped on the M13 eastbound by Blue Security’s CCPU team alongside Kloof Neighbourhood Watch members. The homeowner arrived shortly after and positively identified the suspect as the same individual involved in the housebreaking.

SAPS Pinetown arrived soon thereafter and took the suspect into custody for further investigation and processing.

Working Together for a Safer Kloof

This successful arrest is a strong reminder of the power of community collaboration. The quick response from Blue Security, the dedication of Kloof Neighbourhood Watch, and the support of SAPS Pinetown highlight how effective teamwork is in keeping our neighbourhoods safe.

“When residents, private security, and SAPS work as one, we create strong, protective networks. Thank you to everyone who played a part in this successful arrest,” said Grant Laret, Blue Security Community Manager for Kloof.
