AI-POWERED SURVEILLANCE LEADS TO SWIFT RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY

During the early hours of 25 June 2026, Blue Security’s CCTV Monitoring and Command Centre was proactively monitoring alerts along Chartwell Drive when a suspicious individual was identified within the surveillance area.
Using Blue Security’s advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced CCTV system, the individual’s behaviour was automatically flagged as irregular, enabling operators to focus their attention on the suspect in real time. The AI-assisted monitoring system played a vital role in detecting unusual movement patterns and rapidly identifying a potential criminal incident before it escalated.
The Blue CCTV Monitoring and Command Centre dispatched a Blue Security Armed Response Officer to investigate. Upon arrival, the officer, supported by Blue Security Tactical Officers, successfully located and intercepted the suspect.
During further investigation, the suspect was found in possession of multiple items and admitted that the property had been stolen from a motor vehicle parked on Chartwell Drive. Responding members proceeded to the identified residence, where the owner positively identified the recovered items as belonging to him.
At the request of the complainant, the suspect was detained on scene while Durban North SAPS attended to complete the necessary legal procedures.
This incident demonstrates how the combination of highly trained personnel and AI-powered surveillance technology enables Blue Security to detect suspicious activity earlier, reduce response times and significantly improve crime prevention and property recovery.
