Amanzimtoti woman scares off hijackers

An Amanzimtoti woman escaped a botched hijacking unharmed last night.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a gang of armed men ambushed the motorist on her Linscott Road property in Athlone Park at around 8pm. “She had just arrived home and driven up the driveway when three armed suspects pulled up to the property in a white Audi.
The suspects tried to break the vehicle windows and pulled on the doors, but the motorist screamed and activated the alarm. The suspects then turned and fled the scene in their vehicle. No injuries were reported,” he said.
Amanzimtoti SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
