Blue Security Tactical Officers received information from Tracker South Africa regarding a Toyota Etios that had been stolen in the Mayville area.
Using Blue Security’s integrated ANPR camera network, Tactical Command tracked the movement of the stolen vehicle. The Toyota Etios was detected by an ANPR camera entering the Mobeni Heights area, prompting Tactical Officers and Tracker South Africa to immediately saturate the area.
During the operation, a Blue Security Tactical Officer spotted the stolen vehicle travelling at high speed along Mhlongo Road. The officer immediately turned around and pursued the vehicle as it fled towards Merebank.
The pursuit continued until the suspect turned into Swinton Road, where the stolen Toyota Etios was abandoned. The suspect fled on foot towards nearby railway lines and escaped into dense vegetation despite an immediate search of the area.
The recovered vehicle was secured and handed over to Tracker South Africa and Montclair SAPS for the necessary recovery procedures and further investigation.
The successful recovery demonstrates the effectiveness of Blue Security’s ANPR technology, rapid tactical deployment and close collaboration with vehicle tracking companies and law enforcement in recovering stolen vehicles.
