Armed Response

A Kloof school manager was robbed at gunpoint after returning from the bank on Thursday morning.
Blue Security operation manager Brian Jackson said the school’s maintenance manager had gone to a local bank and was ambushed as he arrived back at the school premises. The gang arrived in a white Nissan bakkie.
“A gang of six robbers, two of them armed with firearms, held him up at gunpoint as he entered the property. One of the robbers was armed with a taser-like shocker and repeatedly shocked the manager,” he said. “The robbers fled with cash that the manager had drawn from the bank.”
Kloof SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
Jackson advised business managers and residents to be vigilant when conducting banking and to vary the days and times of conducting transactions as well as the routes travelled.
“Criminals stake out their victims before striking. It is important to always be aware of your surroundings and to make sure that you are not being followed to and from the bank. Preferably take a staff member with you to help you keep a lookout and if you do notice that you are being followed, don’t turn into the driveway. Rather drive to your nearest police station and call your security company to investigate,” he said.
