Armed hijackers hold up couple in Pinetown

Brazen hijackers held up a couple while their vehicle was being inspected for a repair quote in Pinetown on Friday morning last week. Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the couple had arrived at a motor vehicle repair company in Blair Road. While a representative inspected the car, hijackers held them up at around 10.30am.
“Two hijackers armed with firearms, and a third unarmed suspect, forced the representative and the customer who was standing outside the vehicle to lie on the floor. They robbed the customer of his watch and made his wife get out of the vehicle,” he said. “The hijackers fled in the car with the couple’s cellphones, valuables and a handbag.”
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
Jackson said in a separate incident on Friday armed men stabbed a security guard in Kayalami Road at 5.12am. “Four suspects cut a hole in the wire fence of a business premises and stabbed the security guard in his arm. ER24 paramedics attended the scene and transported the victim to hospital,” he said. “The motive for the stabbing is unclear at this stage.”
