Woman wakes to armed intruders in Assagay home invasion

An Assagay resident was lucky to survive a home invasion unharmed after she awoke to find two intruders in her home in the early hours of this morning.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer said two intruders, one of them armed with a knife, gained entry into her Cadmoore Road home through a kitchen window.
“One of the robbers held her up at knifepoint while the other suspect gathered valuables including jewellery, an iPad, a cellphone, a wallet, a television and a bag full of shoes, before fleeing the scene in a silver grey Toyota Tazz. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.
Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
A housebreaker was arrested during a separate incident in Hillcrest, being one of seven suspects apprehended over the Heritage Day long weekend.
