Armed robber shot dead in Reservoir Hills mall gun battle

An armed robber was shot dead during a shootout with a business owner inside a shopping mall in New Germany Road this morning.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said a large gang of around nine suspects arrived at the Reservoir Hills Shopping Mall in two vehicles and forced their way into a shop inside the mall at around 11.50am.
“A shootout ensued and one of the suspects was shot dead and a second suspect was shot in the leg. Paramedics treated the second suspect at the scene. It is unclear at this stage whether anything was stolen,” he said.
SAPS attended the scene of the crime along with Blue Security armed response officers.
