Armed Response

A teacher survived being stabbed during an armed robbery at a school in Pinetown, on Thursday morning.
“Blue Security responded to a call just before noon and proceeded to the school in Pinetown to investigate,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
“CCTV footage reveals a suspect attempted to gain access to the building by removing a windowpane leading to the kitchen at the back of the premises. When he was unable to gain entry through the window, the suspect made his way to one of the classrooms and attacked a teacher,” reported Mathios.
“The victim was stabbed and a cellphone stolen before the suspect fled. Medical care was administered at the scene before an ambulance transported the injured teacher to hospital,” Mathios said.
“Pinetown SAPS attended the scene and investigations are continuing. A case of armed robbery has been opened,” said Mathios.
In an unrelated incident a short while later, Blue Security responded to a case of armed robbery in the Farningham Ridge area of Pinetown.
“A resident was attacked on his property by four armed men just after midday, on Thursday,” Mathios said.
“The resident had been sorting through tools when the attack occurred. The armed suspects forced the resident inside his house before assaulting him. The man was pistol-whipped and forced to lie on the ground with the suspects putting their feet on him,” Mathios said.
“The armed gang fled in a vehicle stolen from the property. Other items taken in the robbery included various electronics, jewellery, and tools. The vehicle was later recovered but the other stolen items are still missing,” Mathios said.
“Paramedics attended the scene to treat the victim’s injuries,” Mathios said.
The case is currently under investigation.
