Arrests in Glenwood and Glenmore
Blue Security armed response officers arrested an alleged house robber and two alleged trespassers in Glenwood and Glenmore this week.
Operations manager Brian Jackson said the robber had broken into a granny cottage in Ormiston Place where he held up the tenant and forced her into a wardrobe before hopping the fence to escape.
The incident occurred at 6.30pm on Monday. “He robbed her of a laptop, a cellphone, a camera, jewellery and cash and fled over the fence into a neighbouring property. There were no injuries,” he said.
Jackson said a resident in Nicholson Road had heard a noise outside on their property several minutes later and had pressed their panic button. “We responded to the scene and our officer searched the property and found the suspect who had allegedly robbed the Ormiston Road resident hiding in a rubbish bin the with stolen items. He was arrested and handed over to the Umbilo SAPS,” he said.
Jackson said all of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the victim.
In a separate incident at 5.43pm on Sunday armed response officers responded to a property in Helen Baxter Road in Glenmore where two alleged trespassers were arrested. “The two men claimed that they had entered the wrong property. Nothing was stolen or damaged. The men were handed over to the Umbilo SAPS,” he said.
