Assault Suspect Located Following Panic Activation

Blue Security Control Room received a panic activation from a convenience centre and service station in the Newlands East area. The client reported that a fight had occurred on the premises, prompting the immediate dispatch of Armed Response, Tactical, and Management personnel.

Upon arrival, responding members gathered information from staff and witnesses. It was established that a male suspect had allegedly assaulted a female staff member while she was on duty before fleeing the scene on foot.

Blue Security members obtained a detailed description of the suspect and immediately began searching the surrounding area. While conducting patrols nearby, members located a male matching the description provided and stopped him for further investigation.

The suspect was escorted back to the service station, where the victim positively identified him as the individual involved in the assault. The victim confirmed her intention to open a criminal case against the suspect.

Members of the South African Police Service Greenwood Park SAPS attended the scene and assumed responsibility for the matter. The suspect was handed over for further investigation and processing.
