Durban North business staff assaulted with mallet during robbery

Staff at a business premises in Kenville in Durban North were injured when armed robbers held them up and assaulted them with a mallet on Friday afternoon.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said two suspects armed with firearms and a mallet entered the premises in Stanhope Road at around 2pm and ordered the staff to lie on the ground. “The suspects demanded cash and jewellery from the staff, and beat some of the staff with a mallet. They fled the scene with cellphones, laptops, jewellery and an undisclosed sum of cash,” Mathios said.
“ER24 paramedics attended the scene and transported two of the injured staff to hospital,” Mathios said.
Greenwood Park SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
