Bar Break-In at Sugar Loaf Centre

Quick Response Stops Suspects Before Bar Break-In at Sugar Loaf Centre

A vigilant community member from the West Riding Community Policing Responders group shared a voice note alerting security teams to suspicious activity at Sugar Loaf Centre. Security on site reported that two suspects were inside the bar area at Lloyds Liquors and appeared to be preparing for a break-in.

Blue Security’s Armed Response Officers (AROs) arrived swiftly and discovered two male suspects on the scene, just moments before they could force entry into the bar. The rapid arrival and intervention prevented what could have been a significant loss for the business.

Upon searching the suspects, officers found several items in their possession, including a crowbar — clear evidence of their intention to break in. A second ARO also arrived to assist and secure the scene.

Hillcrest SAPS were immediately notified by Blue Security’s Command Centre and responded promptly. The suspects were then taken into police custody for further investigation.
