Armed Response

Blue Security’s non-profit organization, Blue Angels, is strengthening its partnership with the Open Door Crisis Centre to progress the degree of support provided to victims of crime.
Last week members of Blue Security’s management team visited a poverty stricken community in Hammarsdale to spend some time with victims of abuse.
It was a humbling experience meeting extraordinary individuals who have endured the worst forms of assault imaginable, but who want to rise above their situations and make a difference in their communities. Blue Angels aims to have a more hands-on approach and be more involved in the development of individuals.
One of the projects run by Open Door is the Ikhaya Ithemba Shelter, where a temporary safe haven is made available for women who live in dire situations desperately looking for a way out.
Situated in an undisclosed location, women are educated on legal rights, are taught certain life skills, and how to make sober decisions regarding their future.
