Armed Response

Our tactical teams work with an organisation called SNIPR, that provide ANPR technology through the use of ANPR cameras and a smartphone app. Each tactical vehicle is fitted with an ANPR camera so tactical ambassadors can scan number plates while on a crime scene or even during a car chase.
These high-tech, smart cameras read the number plates of vehicles driving past and automatically run them through a SAPS database of case registered vehicles, flagging any cars that would’ve been reported as stolen, hijacked or wanted.
Eye-in-the-Sky Cameras are the large blue domes that are strategically placed around the greater Durban area. This live camera feed is monitored by Blue’s Community Command Centre. Any suspicious activity that is picked up by this centre is directly fed through to the tactical team.
The tech that makes this approach so effective includes Line-Crossing Technology and Virtual Patrols.
The Blue Security Community Command Centre collects all the information it receives from Blue’s control centre, CCTV cameras, Armed Response Officers, Lieutenants, Area Managers, clients, Neighbourhood Watch Members, SAPS, and other private informants. This is all compiled and directed to the tactical team to ensure that they are aware of what is happening in and around the city of Durban.
Blue Security’s tactical team has an established relationship with SAPS, which creates a sharing platform for information that is vital to fighting organised crime. There is also another network of informants that include personal relationships that each of the tactical officers have built up, due to the nature of their exposure to elements on the ground. This specific network includes private informants, neighbourhood watch members and criminal informants.
We look forward to many more successful arrests made in the greater Durban area due to this dynamic team of professionals!
