Celebrating Rugby Excellence – Springbok Legends Breakfast in Durban

Durban, South Africa – 27 March 2025 – This morning, Dell Technologies, in collaboration with CorporateSport, proudly hosted the “Twin Peaks Springbok Warriors Breakfast” at the Elangeni Hotel in Durban. The event honoured two of South Africa’s rugby legends, Eben Etzebeth and Victor Matfield, celebrating their remarkable contributions to the sport.

Eben Etzebeth, renowned for his formidable presence on the field, recently became the most-capped Springbok player, surpassing Victor Matfield’s record of 127 test caps in September 2024. Etzebeth’s illustrious career includes pivotal roles in South Africa’s Rugby World Cup victories in 2019 and 2023, as well as triumphs in the Rugby Championship and the British & Irish Lions series. His leadership and resilience have solidified his status as a cornerstone of the national team.

Victor Matfield, a towering figure in South African rugby history, held the record for the most test caps until Etzebeth’s recent achievement. Matfield’s career is decorated with numerous accolades, including the 2007 Rugby World Cup title and multiple Tri-Nations (now Rugby Championship) victories. His strategic insight and line-out expertise have left an indelible mark on the game.

The breakfast event provided an intimate setting for attendees to engage with these rugby icons. Our directors had the distinct honour of meeting both Etzebeth and Matfield, gaining first-hand insights into their experiences and perspectives on the evolution of rugby.
