Drunk pilot commits suicide at Botswana baby shower.

On the 24th of March a pilot crashed an aircraft from Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone, Botswana and committed suicide after assaulting his wife at a social gathering.

The pilot Charl Viljoen was with his wife Natasha at a baby shower when an argument began. After a few words were thrown around, Charl threw a fist at Natasha and assaulted her.

Charl, who was intoxicated, was instructed to leave the social gathering immediately.

Charl, who worked at the airport, headed to the airport in his car (still intoxicated), got into one of the aircrafts and proceeded to fly to the destination of the baby shower.

While in the air, Charl called one of his friends who were at the stork party asking about his wife’s whereabouts. The friend on the other end of the phone realised that something was wrong and screamed for everyone to get out of the building.

Charl Viljoen committed suicide by crashing the airplane into the building and was the only casualty in the crash.
