Boys in Blue swoop on New Germany burglars

Blue Security armed response officers and police swooped on New Germany burglars and recovered stolen goods in two separate incidents earlier this week.
New Germany burglars apprehendedBlue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said an officer who was patrolling in Berkshire Drive noticed a burglar climbing out of the roof of a house. “When the burglar realised that our officer had detected him, he climbed back into the house,” Jackson said.
“Our officer then entered the property with a member of the SAPS K9 Unit and tracked down and arrested the suspect on the property. He had broken into the house through the roof with two accomplices, who had managed to flee with a cellphone and an electronic tablet.”
In a separate incident, a burglar who had broken into a home in Hillside Road was arrested in Datchet Place at around 12.15pm.
“Our officers were attending to the scene of a burglary in Berkshire Drive when they noticed a suspect carrying a red bag. He started to run and fled into nearby bushes when he realised our officers had seen him,” Jackson said.
“A member of the police dog unit attended the scene and, together with one of our officers, tracked down and arrested the suspect. A wallet, perfume, a jacket and an electric shaver which the resident identified as stolen goods were recovered from him,” he said.
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
