Armed Response

During the later days of April Cape Town fire fighters rushed to a scene where a burning bus burst into flames on Nelson Mandela Boulevard.
The flames and smoke played a major disturbance on the roads which in turn caused commotion and disturbed the flow of traffic to and from the surrounding areas.
Within a matter of moments, two fire engines, a rescue vehicle and 12 staff members were dispatched. Emergency services responded promptly and the blaze was extinguished.
Luckily, the burning bus was not carrying passengers when it caught fire and the driver was able to flee the vehicle before the blaze engulfed the bus.
The fire is believed to have started in the bus’ engine compartment before quickly spreading. There is no suggestion that this is in anyway linked to the burning of a Golden Arrow Bus in Cape Town prior to this incident.
