Cable Thieves Caught Red-Handed in Bluff

Blue Security Tactical Officers received information regarding two men allegedly burning electrical cables near the power station on Lighthouse Road in the Bluff area.
Members immediately responded to the reported location and successfully located both suspects. Preliminary investigations established that the suspects had allegedly cut and stolen municipal electrical cable and were in the process of burning the insulation to extract the copper.
Both suspects were immediately detained by Blue Security Tactical Officers. A representative from the eThekwini Municipality attended the scene to assist with the investigation, after which the suspects were handed over and transported to Brighton Beach SAPS for the necessary legal procedures.
The successful apprehension highlights the importance of proactive response, intelligence sharing and strong collaboration between Blue Security, municipal officials and law enforcement in protecting critical public infrastructure from criminal activity.
