Caught on camera. The perfect trifecta of intelligent CCTV surveillance, proactive monitoring and swift response lead to the arrest of a suspect in Holstead Gardens on the 24th of August.
The artificial intelligence technology of the surveillance cameras in Holstead Gardens picked up suspicious activity of an intruder inside predetermined parameters at a time when there shouldn’t have been any. A sneaky thief had made his way down the road tampering with every vehicle, until he found one that had been left unlocked.
We immediately received the signal in our control centre where a CCTV controller was able to get a clear description of the suspect, as well as relay real-time movement to our reaction officer, who arrived on scene within 2 minutes. The controller further informed him that the suspect was hiding underneath the car he had broken into and he could confidently approach and apprehend the suspect armed with knowledge, and his firearm of course.
