Cellphone safety: Walking with a phone in your hand can be hair-raising.

Watch as this high-school student from Grey College in Port Elizabeth instantly gets his cellphone swiped out of his grasp on his way into a local supermarket.
During the middle of the day after school, a student from Grey college along with a few of his friends walked into a grocery store in the area. While most of the friends had already walked into the shop, the student in a white blazer took a bit more time to enter. He was confronted by an African male who successfully managed to rob the boy of his cellphone. With the phone out of the student’s reach and not knowing the potential threat of the attacker, the pupil retaliated and did not attempt to retrieve his phone from the thief.
To avoid this happening to you, keep these three short tips in mind:

  1. Don’t walk and talk on your phone in public
  2. Hide your phone away when you are not using it
  3. Have a password on your phone to make it more difficult for thieves to access it
