COMMUNITY VIGILANCE LEADS TO THEFT SUSPECT BEING DETAINED

Blue Security’s Command Centre received reports via a community group that a suspicious male was allegedly digging at the base of a streetlight pole on a road in the Arena Park area in an apparent attempt to steal underground electrical cabling.

The information was immediately relayed to Blue Security Area Response Officers, Tactical Officers and Chatsworth SAPS, who were dispatched to investigate.

Upon arrival, responding Blue Security members located the suspect at the reported location. The suspect was successfully detained and handed over to Chatsworth SAPS for further investigation and the necessary legal processes.

This incident highlights the value of strong community partnerships and the importance of promptly reporting suspicious activity. The swift sharing of information, combined with a coordinated response, helped prevent the further theft of critical public infrastructure.
