Area of Responsibility: Avoca Hills / KwaMashu
Date: 11 June 2026
Blue Security Tactical members received information from a community group regarding a hijacking in progress on Avoca Hills Drive. According to reports, three armed suspects travelling in a seven-seater Suzuki allegedly hijacked a silver Volkswagen Polo Vivo before fleeing the area.
Upon receiving the information, Blue Security Tactical members immediately mobilised and began patrolling known vehicle crime hotspots in the KwaMashu area in an effort to locate the suspects and stolen vehicle.
While conducting patrols, members were flagged down by a member of the public who provided information regarding a suspected stolen vehicle located in KwaMashu Section B. This information was immediately shared with supporting law enforcement teams, who responded to the area to investigate.
A search of the location led to the discovery of a vehicle down an embankment near an informal settlement. Preliminary information indicated that the vehicle had been reported stolen the previous day. The vehicle was recovered and safely removed from the embankment before being transported to the KwaMashu Police Station for further investigation and processing.
The successful recovery was made possible through the swift response of Blue Security members, valuable information provided by the community, and effective cooperation between all role players involved.
