Copper Theft Suspect Apprehended by Blue Security’s Tactical Unit

M7 Eastbound – 02 July 2025

Blue Security’s Tactical Unit once again demonstrated their commitment to protecting our communities and infrastructure with a swift apprehension on the M7 Eastbound this morning.

While on a routine patrol between St Johns and Winston Churchill Drive, our officers noticed suspicious behaviour and immediately took action. Upon stopping and searching the suspect, they discovered copper cables believed to have been stolen earlier that morning.

Copper theft remains a serious problem across South Africa, disrupting essential services and placing unnecessary strain on public resources. Quick interventions like this one not only help safeguard vital infrastructure but also send a clear message to would-be criminals: our communities will not tolerate this type of crime.

Our Tactical Unit’s ability to respond rapidly and effectively is built on extensive training, advanced technology, and strong community partnerships. We remain committed to keeping all areas we protect safe and secure, whether it is on our roads or in our neighbourhoods.

We encourage residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity immediately. Together, we can continue to build a safer, stronger community.

“Our Tactical teams are on high alert around the clock to ensure criminals have no place to hide. We thank the community for their ongoing support and vigilance.” States Brian Jackson Operations Director
