Armed Response

A Cowies Hill family was lucky to escape an armed robbery uninjured when five suspects invaded their home in the early hours of this morning.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the gang had pistol whipped the resident’s son during the Cowies Hill home invasion when he dared to verbally challenge the robbers, who had entered the home from the back of the property. The incident occurred at around 4.30am.
“Fortunately, he was not injured during the assault. The robbers held the family up at gunpoint, locked some of the residents in a room and forced others to load up their vehicle with their television and other valuables. The gang fled towards the N3. Police later recovered the vehicle in the Mpumalanga CBD,” he said.
Pinetown SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
We urge residents to regularly assess their perimeter security, as entering properties from the back appears to be a current modus operandi.
