Doonside housebreaker caught stealing from garage

A Blue Security armed response officer arrested a burglar in Doonside earlier today.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the officer caught the suspect who had stolen valuables from the garage of a property in Queens Terrace. The incident occurred at around 1.50pm.
“The resident spotted the suspect on the property and contacted our control centre for assistance,” Mathios said.
“Our officer responded swiftly to the scene and caught the suspect who had just stolen a CD player and extension cable from a car that was parked, unlocked, inside the garage,” Mathios said.
“Upon investigation it was found that the suspect had smashed a window to gain entry into the garage. Our officer apprehended the suspect as he attempted to run away from the scene,” Mathios said.
The suspect was handed over to the Amanzimtoti SAPS at the scene of the crime.
