Durban North Blue Zone

Reliable alarm monitoring and armed response

Welcome to the Durban North Blue Zone

Taking an aggressive stand against crime, Blue Security’s dedicated Durban North tactical team are reinforcing the community’s security measures for safer homes.

The recent deployment of the first Eye in the Sky CCTV surveillance cameras in the area, fitted with highly effective ANPR (Automated Number Plate Recognition) cameras, was the first step in enhancing the suburb’s security.

What is an ANPR camera event?

An ANPR camera captures the number plate of every single vehicle that drives past it and automatically cross-references it with the SAPS database. If the vehicle is flagged as stolen, hijacked or wanted for being involved in criminal activity, a high alert notification is immediately circulated to Blue Security and the police, enabling a swift response to the scene.

Strategic tactical resources to bolster the fight against crime in Durban North

Taking our commitment to a safer Durban North even further, three additional ANPR cameras have now been installed at key high‑traffic points across the northern suburbs. These strategic sites were selected based on vehicle flow and vulnerability, ensuring that major access routes into the area are actively monitored.

The updated coverage map shows that these sponsored cameras now secure several primary arteries feeding into the Durban North suburbs. However, to achieve complete visibility over every entrance and exit, we still require five more ANPR cameras — and this is where your support makes all the difference.

How ANPR Technology Strengthens Security Across Durban North

  • Enhances monitoring of key entry and exit routes, giving Durban North suburbs stronger control over vehicle movement and potential threats.
  • Adds an intelligent layer to the existing camera network, working alongside AI cameras and response teams for faster, more informed action.
  • Supports long‑term community safety, contributing to the broader investment in advanced security infrastructure across the northern suburbs.
  • Strengthens partnerships between residents, response teams, and neighbourhood networks, creating a more unified and proactive security environment.
