Durban’s ice rink revamped

Durban's ice rink - Blue loves DurbanWith Durban weather being too awesome, we don’t get the magical allure of nostalgic ice skating sessions on frozen-over ponds in winter times. However, this comes pretty close! The city’s landmark ice rink was sorely missed as it was closed down while undergoing a multimillion-rand overhaul, but they’re back in business and reopened their doors on Heritage Day last week.

Everything inside the Olympic size ice rink speaks of new and improved and reflects the many months of planning and construction invested into transforming the rink to its former glory, with special attention given to the perfection of refrigeration, dehumidification and air control systems.

From an improved venue to a newly inlaid ice surface, shining new ice skates and many other solid upgrades, they have created a place of fun for everyone.

Whether you’re stopping by for casual skating sessions, letting your hair down at Friday night discos, going all out with exciting birthday parties, or just stopping by for the food, this is something you don’t want to miss out on. They also offer team building exercises, ice shows, ice hockey and skating lessons, and school outings where kids learn how the ice is made and maintained.
