Armed Response

New Year’s resolutions go hand in hand with a new year. The most common New Year’s resolutions are to enjoy life to the fullest and being more active and healthy. Fortunately for Durbanites, there are endless opportunities to enjoy life in our beautiful city while being more active without having to jump on a treadmill or a bicycle that will take you nowhere.
What better place to start off your new active and healthy lifestyle than on our breath-taking Golden Mile. It is safe for the whole family and there is a wonderful atmosphere with lots of people of various shapes and sizes exercising. You can enjoy the cycling heaven of a scenic 6km cycle, or a 12km round trip on a well maintained, clean, wide stretch of pavement which runs alongside the ocean. The bonus is that you don’t have to spend a fortune on buying a new bicycle and stress about how you will transport it to the beach. For your convenience you can easily rent a bicycle from as little as R60 from various shops on the promenade, the most popular being Bike and Bean and Xpression on the Beach.
The fun does not stop there, why not try something new like Standup paddle boarding? This is a great way to exercise as you will use almost every muscle in your body at some point during paddle boarding. The team at Xpresion on the Beach have a serious passion for Standup paddle boarding and love to share their passion with other people. They are based on Addington beach but offer beginners classes at the pristine Durban Point Waterfront Canal which they have exclusive access to.
Durbanites can enjoy life to the fullest and not even notice that they are breaking a sweat. Being active and sticking to your New Year’s resolutions has never been this fun.
