Armed Response

A family’s relaxing afternoon by the pool was horrifically shattered when they became the victims of a home invasion by a gang of four armed men in their Westville home.
“A Blue Security armed-response officer arrived and was informed that four armed suspects had surprised the family, who had been seated at their poolside veranda. The suspects had confronted the family by running at them with guns pointed and then forcing them inside the house,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
The son and his father were tied up and the rest of the family was ordered to lie down on the floor before the gang located the domestic worker in her quarters and also brought her into the house.
“The gang fled, after ransacking the home, taking numerous items including laptops, plasma TVs, a vacuum cleaner, cellphones, jewellery and watches which were removed from the victims’ wrists,” Mathios said.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. Westville SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
