February 2020 Crime Stats: A Rise in Durban Shooting Incidents

There have been a number of violent shooting incidents reported in the month of February. In two recent Durban hijacking incidents motorists were critically injured after being shot and in the latest incident a brave security guard lost his life whilst warning staff to take cover from armed suspects.
A safety reminder to Durban residents to be vigilant at all times. If you cannot escape a shooting incident – remain calm, quiet and hide, preferably behind something solid. Lastly, if you do come face to face with an armed criminal speak slowly, avoid any swift movement, give them what the ask for and always remember that your life is worth more than any valuable you have.
