The Blue Security Tactical Command Centre received information via a group chat requesting assistance with a fraud case involving a Hyundai i10 in the Shallcross area.
According to information received, the vehicle owner had given the Hyundai i10 to a person for repairs. When the owner later attempted to renew the vehicle licence, she discovered that the vehicle was no longer registered in her name.
The owner reported the matter to Pinetown SAPS, where a fraud case was opened under case number 506/09/2026.
Matrix activated its tracking unit, and the vehicle’s location was shared with the relevant response teams. Blue Security Tactical members and a Matrix representative proceeded to the location in Shallcross, where they found the vehicle parked inside a residential property.
During enquiries at the property, a resident stated that he had purchased the vehicle from another individual. The seller was contacted and attended the scene, stating that he had purchased the vehicle from a person in Nkantla.
Chatsworth SAPS attended the scene, and the vehicle, together with the relevant individuals, was escorted to Chatsworth SAPS for further investigation and verification.
