Gang robs man at service station

A violent gang robbed a man at a service station in Polokwane last week.
The man finished checking his vehicle’s water when a gang of four men pounced on him. One robber kept his knife positioned ready to stab the victim and the others assaulted the man. The gang checked the victim’s pockets and inside his vehicle before calmly walking away as if nothing happened. It is unclear what they took from their victim.
Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson advised that if you come face-to-face with an armed robber, try to stay calm. Speak slowly and avoid any swift movement. Keep your hands in sight so that the attackers do not become nervous or think you are attempting to wield a hidden weapon. Try to avoid eye contact and do not resist their demands to hand over valuables. Fighting back raises the risk of injury or tragedy, but if you co-operate with their requests it’s far less likely that you or your family will be harmed.
