Glen Ashley COPS

Reliable alarm monitoring and armed response

Welcome to the Glen Ashley COPS

My best guess is that you are on this page to discover more about the Glen Ashley COPS project. More importantly, you probably want to explore the benefits of being a part of this Blue Zone. Rest assured, you have reached your information destination!

Have you been a part of the project since day one, or are you a new member of the team? Because this page will provide you with a rundown of how and why the Glen Ashley COPS project came into existence and show you the many benefits that project members have access to.

Why was the Glen Ashley COPS initiated?

The project began as a solution to an increase in crime, in the Glen Ashley area. Residents decided that they needed to take action to make their neighbourhood a safer place to live in, over and above the meticulous care that residents take to secure their own homes.

In 2016 Glen Ashley residents got together and after a few meetings, realised that they needed a better approach to secure their area. They began discussions with Blue Security around a dedicated service, and the community soon realised that Blue offered the solutions that Glen Ashley residents were looking for. Blue provided a strong sense of urgency, with regard to security and reaction, that was much needed at the time of the project’s inception. They also had the infrastructure to create a dynamic approach to both proactive and reactive security.

Blue Security and Glen Ashley COPS members have since enjoyed a strong relationship, because of their mutual understanding of what the community needs.

How and where was the Glen Ashley COPS project initiated?

The partnership between residents and Blue Security – with the multiple layers of technology, patrolling, and surveillance that they provide – has resulted in a significant reduction in crime, within the Glen Ashley COPS footprint. There is 85% less crime in the project footprint compared to surrounding areas. This is tangible proof of how effective a layered approach to individual and community security can be.

The Community Policing Officer (CPO), one of those integral layers, patrols the demarcated area 24/7 in the dedicated vehicle that is exclusive to and doesn’t leave the Glen Ashley COPS footprint. This dedicated vehicle is supported by 3 additional vehicles from surrounding areas and an area manager vehicle, ensuring that members have much faster response times.

Current members can see the safety benefits of having a dedicated vehicle and CPO patrolling their specified footprint, and they encourage the residents of Glen Ashley to join the project to increase their security and further secure their community.

What security benefits do Glen Ashley COPS project members have access to by being a part of the project?

  1. A vehicle that never leaves the designated footprint and 3 supporting vehicles which ensure faster response times.
  2. A dedicated project management team to assist with your queries.
  3. Two Eye-in-the-Sky cameras that monitor the comings and goings in the footprint and are highly visible to further serve as a deterrent to potential criminals.
  4. Two Free Blue Mobile Panic Apps per subscribed household.
  5. Direct cell phone communication with the project vehicle for rendezvous meet-and-assist services.
  6. Ambassador and Tactical team community support for special operations.
  7. External perimeter and internal property checks upon request.

There is no doubt that the Glen Ashley COPS residents can see the endless value of being a part of the project and reap the rewards of the dedicated security resources in the area, looking after Blue Zone members all day, every day.
