Knifeman on the run after Glenwood stabbing arrested

Swift team work by a Blue Security armed response officer and a security guard led to the arrest of a man who has been on the run from police since a resident was injured during a Glenwood stabbing last week.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said a patrolling Blue Security armed response officer received information from a security guard employed by another security company, that the wanted man had been spotted in Bulwer Road earlier today. The suspect had last week stabbed a resident who lives in Helen Joseph Road and robbed him of his cellphone and laptop.
“Our officer immediately responded to the area where the suspect had been located. He arrested him and handed him over to the Umbilo police, who were called to the scene,” Mathios said.
Mathios commended the officers for their teamwork and swift response to the scene. “By working together with other security firms, the police and local community members, we can send a strong message to criminals that crime will not be tolerated in our neighbourhoods and that those who dare to commit crimes will face the wrath of the law when they are caught,” he said.
