Armed Response

Security officers were called out to contain the crime scene where the battered body of a 38-year-old man was discovered in a park in Phoenix early this morning.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said members of the public informed an armed response officer of the grisly find in Stanmore Park via a local community crime WhatsApp Group at around 5.15am.
“Our officer responded to the scene along with security officers from other local companies where they found the severely battered body of a man, estimated to be around 38 years old, lying in a pool of blood in the park. A blood stained wooden baseball bat was found lying next the body,” Mathios said. “The officers contained the scene to prevent curious passers from getting too close and contaminating it.”
Phoenix SAPS were alerted to the incident and arrived to take control of the crime scene.
