Blue loves Durban

You don’t have to trick-or-treat to have family fun this Halloween.

From a safety point of view, the only problem I have with Halloween is the trick-or-treating. But you don’t have to go trick-or-treating to join in on the fun. Tell me, what is it that you want to do for Halloween this year?

Did you used to celebrate Halloween as a child? If not, it’s never too late to start (especially if you have kids). If you did go trick-or-treating or throw Halloween parties in the past, don’t skip out on celebrating again this year!

Looking back, I can’t believe how long it has been since I took part in a Halloween event (it’s sad actually). I feel like when it comes to themed celebrations, Halloween is one where you can really go all out.

Whether you go big and throw a party with your friends and family, go trick-or-treating with your children at Ushaka’s Halloween festival or keep it chilled by watching a themed movie with your kids and some funky snacks, Halloween can be a fun festivity for all.

Halloween can be as fun as you want it to be, plus we all know how much children enjoy sweets, playing games and dressing up.

It’s the perfect excuse to have a party, dress up and do something a little bit out of the ordinary to have one less mundane Friday or Saturday night at home.

To me, there are 5 main ways people approach Halloween:

  1. Go to a Halloween event
  2. Throw a dress up party
  3. Throw a Halloween themed movie night
  4. Trick or treat around the neighbourhood or at Ushaka Marine World
  5. Nothing at all

You don’t want to be number 5. Think back to when you were a child and your parents would ask you what you wanted to dress up as for Halloween. Do you remember how you felt? If you didn’t have the pleasure of celebrating Halloween, you won’t know what you’re missing out on until you give it a try.

So tell me readers, what are you most interested in doing this coming Halloween and we will help you out with some ideas in our next post.
