Armed Response

Are you a winer and diner? Do you have friends that enjoy wine? Chances are you said yes to one of them, if not both! If so, nibble on these words as an appetizer before the main, The Mercury Wine week.
Put your glad rags on and have some fun in Durban this week. Spend a night out on the town with good company and sip on some of the finest wines South Africa has to offer us. Foodies and wine lovers will be pleased to hear that the Mercury Wine week is making its 39th annual appearance at the Grayville Convention Centre on the 30th of August till the 1st of September. Meet the men and women that transform your dinners into dinner parties with just one bottle. Experience our greatest wines glass after glass and enjoy them with their appropriate food pairings.
The best wines are the ones we drink with friends, and Ernie Els. On the 29th of August, all wine traders have been invited to join our winemakers and estate representatives to mingle and show off the best of their bottles at an intimate dinner evening held at The Big Easy wine bar accompanying Ernie Els.
Not only does the event provide a highlight in the social calendar along with fun, food and wine but more importantly, raises funds for The Mercury Hibberdene Children’s holiday home. The aim of this fund is to raise money to take underprivileged children out of their deprived lives and take them on a beach holiday filled with sandcastles , sun and happy faces.
If you enjoy long romantic walks down the wine aisle, then this is the event you can’t afford to miss. So, take a night off from the kids, organise an Uber to the Grayville Convention Centre, consume more wine and cheese than you thought you could all for R120 pre-booked and R140 if you are buying tickets at the door. The fun starts at 17:30 and ends at 20:30
