Armed Response

A swift coordinated response to reports of a suspect spotted fleeing with his loot, resulted in a successful arrest, in the Upper Highway area on Friday morning.
“The Blue Security Tactical Team received information via the Hillcrest/West Riding network that a suspect had been spotted running along the railway line carrying stolen items,” said the Blue Security Highway Tactical Team Ambassador.
“The Tactical Officer proceeded to the area where he successfully tackled and apprehended the suspect,” said the Ambassador. “The suspect had been fleeing a scene in the Hillcrest Park area with various stolen items which included three laptops, shoes and extension cords. The stolen goods were recovered in the suspect’s possession,” he said.
“Further investigations revealed that the suspect had broken into a house in the Hillcrest Park area earlier. The laptops were later positively identified by the homeowner,” he said.
“The notorious suspect is wanted in connection with a number of housebreaking and theft cases in the area,” he said. “The suspect was placed in SAPS custody pending further investigations and evidence which will link him to other housebreaking incidents in the Hillcrest, Gillitts, and Everton areas,” he said.
