HIJACKED SUZUKI ERTIGA RECOVERED AFTER COORDINATED SEARCH
Area: Mayville
Date: 27 June 2026

Blue Security Tactical Officers were alerted to the hijacking of a white Suzuki Ertiga that had occurred in the Chesterville area on 26 June 2026. The incident involved two suspects, and initial tracking efforts were hindered after the vehicle’s tracking device signal was deliberately jammed.

On 27 June 2026, the tracking signal was re-established through Matrix Vehicle Tracking, allowing Tactical Officers to immediately mobilise to the last known location. Members responded towards the northern sector, where the vehicle’s signal was last detected near Queen Nandi Drive.

During the operation, Blue Security Tactical Officers briefly pursued the vehicle between Edwin Swales Drive and Queen Nandi Drive before losing visual contact as the tracking signal was once again interrupted. Shortly afterwards, Matrix Vehicle Tracking advised that the signal had reappeared, indicating that the vehicle was travelling towards the Umkhumbane area.

Blue Security Tactical Officers rapidly redeployed, strategically covering possible escape routes while conducting an extensive search of surrounding roads. The vehicle was ultimately located abandoned in a known hotspot in the Mayville area after having been partially stripped.

The recovered vehicle was secured, and Matrix Vehicle Tracking, the vehicle owner and the relevant SAPS members were notified to continue with the necessary recovery and investigative procedures.
