Hijacked Vehicle Recovery by Blue Security Tactical Team

Umbilo / Cato Manor – 29 June 2025

A rideshare driver was hijacked in the Cato Manor area by an unknown number of suspects. Shortly after the incident, the vehicle’s tracking system was activated, and the vehicle was circulated on various monitoring platforms. Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) signals were picked up in the Mobeni area.

Members on scene requested additional backup. Blue Security’s K9 Unit and Riot Unit proceeded to assist the SAPS and Vehicle Tracking teams in tracking the vehicle.

Upon arrival in the area, the vehicle moved towards the Glebelands Hostels. Due to the difficult terrain, the Blue Security Riot Unit, supported by Metro Police and the Tracking Company approached the area on foot and safely secured the vehicle without incident.

The vehicle was handed over to Metro Police and will be transported to Umlazi SAPS for further processing and investigation.
