Armed Response

Umbilo motorists are warned to be extra vigilant following two hijacking incidents that occurred within hours of one another.
A Carrington Heights resident was hijacked while she was busy parking her vehicle outside a property in Kennard Rise last night.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the woman had just arrived home when the hijackers held her up. The incident occurred at around 7.25pm. “The resident was busy parking her car outside the garage when two armed men approached her on foot and hijacked her of her vehicle. The hijackers fled in her vehicle which also contained her cellphone, bank cards, wallet and laptop. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.
