While conducting proactive patrols in the Westcliff area, Blue Security Tactical Officers came across the aftermath of a collision involving a Renault Kwid and a truck on the M1. The truck failed to stop after the collision and continued driving away from the scene.
A Blue Security Tactical Officer immediately pursued the truck, which was eventually brought to a stop in another part of Westcliff. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. One Tactical Officer remained with the truck while another returned to the collision scene to gather further information.
At the scene, a local resident confirmed that the collision had occurred and advised that the Renault Kwid had already been towed from the area. Blue Security members identified the towing company involved and contacted the owner, who confirmed that the vehicle had been recovered and that the driver was at Chatsworth SAPS opening a case.
During the operation, Blue Security Tactical Officers successfully located the truck driver who had fled the scene. The truck owner was contacted, SAPS was notified, and all relevant details were exchanged to assist with the ongoing investigation.
