Armed Response

A showcase of innovative South African design, craft, fashion and food, the I Heart Market takes place on the first Saturday of every month. The next market is happening this Saturday, 3 August from 9 am to 2 pm, on the lawns of Moses Mabhida Stadium situated on the corner of Masabalala Yengwa Ave (NMR Ave) and Isaiah Ntshangase Road. Founded in 2008, the market has been running for over 10 years, bringing Durbanites and visitors a monthly opportunity to get their hands on one-of-a-kind creations.
What to expect:
A community of makers, the I Heart Market is a collection of the best local creatives. The market boasts having a wide range of varying products, all high quality and locally produced, including:
• Fashion, jewelry, and accessories
• Home Décor, art, and ceramics
• Kiddies wear
• Plants
• Natural Skincare
• Vintage collectables
• Deli goods and delicious foods
Situated under the shade of two marquees, the market’s cheerful atmosphere is a lovely way to start the month; meeting creators, people watching, eating great food and supporting local artisans and crafters. Don’t just take our word for it though, go and check out their Instagram and Facebook pages for a sneak peek of the tasty treats and unique treasures available.
Things you should know:
• The event is both kid and pet-friendly – so it’s a fun day out for literally the whole family.
• There are no admission fees – which means more bucks to support the local talent and to #TreatYo’Self!
• Most of the vendors are situated under one of the two marquees – meaning that the market will go on, come rain or shine.
