INCIDENT REPORT: Armed Robbery

We are saddened to report an incident where three suspects approached a home claiming to be from the municipality to read the electricity meters. Once the homeowner turned their back, the suspects assaulted them and made off with a TV and jewellery.

Residents are urged to remain vigilant and always verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the municipality. Remember, all eThekwini Electricity staff and contractors will produce official ID cards and arrive in clearly marked vehicles. If in doubt, contact the municipality directly to confirm their legitimacy.
