Officer Discovers Injured Individuals During Patrol
While conducting routine patrols along Link Road in the direction of the M1, a Blue Security officer observed a group of people gathered around an injured male who appeared to be bleeding. The officer immediately alerted the Tactical Command Centre and proceeded to assess the scene to ensure it was safe to stop and provide assistance.
Gunshot Victims Identified and Emergency Services Dispatched
It was established that one male had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. A second male was also present at the scene and was confirmed to be in a critical condition. Emergency assistance was requested, and SAPS was dispatched to the location. One of the injured individuals was transported to hospital by private means prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Preliminary Information Gathered on Scene
Preliminary information obtained from relatives on scene indicated that the victims were known to the suspect’s girlfriend; however, the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this stage. SAPS has taken over the investigation.
