Shots Fired in Harrowing Isipingo Rail Armed Robbery
The sound of gunfire had staff ducking for cover during an armed robbery at a warehouse in Isipingo Rail on Friday.
“Blue Security armed-response officers raced to the scene to discover that a cashier had been held up at gunpoint and an undisclosed amount of cash stolen,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
Three suspects had entered the business premises and threatened the cashier. Two shots were fired by the men inside the building and three more as they fled the scene with the money. The gunmen ran off and were spotted fleeing in a white Nissan Hardbody vehicle.
“Fortunately innocent civilians and staff were unharmed during the Isipingo Rail incident. SAPS are investigating,” said Mathios.
