Lucky JHB driver escapes broad daylight armed-gang hijacking.

Earlier this month a Johannesburg driver was lucky to escape an attempted armed hijacking. The following CCTV footage starts off by showing a red Range Rover about to drive through a complex entrance gate.
While waiting for the boom to open a gang of four armed men stormed out of their vehicle and swarmed the unsuspecting driver.
Watch the footage of the attempted hijacking showing how the gang blocked the driver from behind and harassed their target with a gun. However, the gun was not enough of a threat for this driver as the victim stood their ground.
With quick thinking and quicker acceleration, the driver jumped at the soonest possible moment to ram through the complex exit gates. The driver was able to successfully escape the hijackers and drive away from the terrifying ordeal.
Luckily the driver manged to escape with their life, and vehicle, while the hijackers scrambled away from the scene empty handed.
Safety tip: While waiting to enter a gated property or complex keep your car stationed in the road with your indicator on showing other drivers that you will be turning into the gated property rather than waiting in the “L-cove”.
