Please be advised of major road closures this weekend to allow for the safe demolition of the remaining half of the old King Cetshwayo Bridge on the M13 over the N2. This forms part of upgrades to the EB Cloete Interchange (Spaghetti Junction), aimed at reducing congestion and improving road safety.
Affected Routes:
M13 near Westwood Mall
* Eastbound: Closed at Essex Terrace Interchange
* Westbound: Closed at 45th Avenue (45th Cutting)
N2 between EB Cloete and Umgeni Interchange
* Northbound and Southbound: Fully closed
* N3 Westbound (Durban to Pinetown): Ramp to N2 North closed
* N3 Eastbound (Pinetown to Durban): Ramp to N2 North closed
* N2 Southbound at Umgeni: Closed, with detour via M19/Umgeni Road
* M19 ramps to N2 South: Closed
Important Notes:
* The demolition is essential to enable the addition of lanes on the M13 and N2.
* Full traffic accommodation plans are in place for public safety.
* Truck drivers are advised to delay trips or use the M4, M7, or M19 to avoid congestion.
* Public transport operators must inform drivers of the closures and alternative routes.
